This pretty antique Scottish Agate bow brooch is from the Victorian era, Circa 1880.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
The lovely bow is adorned with a variety of natural Agates which have been cut to fit the flowing shapes of the ribbon.
Agate is a strong mineral sometimes known as the earth rainbow for it’s patterned texture that shows varying colours the earth can produce.
Each Agate is unique with beautiful natural colouring and polished to perfection.
All set in Silver and fitted with a sturdy pin on the reverse.
A wonderful collectors piece and certainly one to be treasured!
