Edwardian Rings

Whilst only a short period in comparison to the Victorian and Georgian eras, the Edwardian period spans between 1901 and 1914 with jewellery and fashion characterised by delicate elegance and a feeling which captured carefree attitudes of those of the time. It was during the Edwardian era that the filigree ring came to market, a type of ring which is still to this day known as the perfect ring to love and cherish.

During the Edwardian period, we also saw the Art Nouveau period, with many rings from this time having a strong crossover in terms of how they’re marketed by different dealers. As a general rule, however, Art Nouveau pieces are distinctly recognised through their own unique design trends.

Many Edwardian rings were strongly influenced by the trends set out in the late Victorian period, a time when jewellery became not only more sophisticated but also refined and in many cases, simplified. Coloured gemstones joined diamonds as popular stones in rings and a range of unique cuts came to market. Both delicate metal work and a new variety of stones saw the development of filigree joined with stunning centre stones and to this day, many Edwardian rings still exude the beauty they held more than 100 years ago.

Here at Laurelle Antique Jewellery, we’re proud to offer an extensive range of Edwardian rings from across the era, all of which have been hand picked by our team of expert jewellers.
