This is a fabulous large Sterling Silver plaid Scottish Agate brooch which is shaped in a lovely buckle design.
This beautiful brooch has the most pristine workmanship throughout.
A carved buckle in agate is based at the bottom of the brooch to signify a buckle leading to beautiful engraving in the silver.
This is most unique, it is Circa 1860
Lots of lovely plaid natural agates are set into this pristine Victorian Silver Scottish brooch.
Tested with Jewellers Acid to confirm it is Sterling Silver
The agates have a lovely colour and warmth showing their natural grain from within.
The jewellery comprises of different coloured Agates and the natural graining of the stone showing through.
Scottish Jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her trips to Scotland. From the mid 1800's Queen Victoria frequented Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral.
With a closed backed silver gallery with original pin and over catch, this really is spectacular.

Purchased in London and steeped in English history.
