Details

A wonderful Antique Victorian Scottish cross pendant made Circa 1860. The piece is carved from a large piece of Agate which has lovely black and brown colouring with natural white bands running through the centre.

Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain.

The solid stone is polished and smooth to the touch. It is truly remarkable and finished with a Silver bale. It would look beautiful suspended from a chain.

The piece has had a small repair done to the tip of one of the cross bars, but this is minimal wear for its age and doesn’t detract from its beauty.
