This fabulous antique French butterfly brooch was made during the Victorian era, Circa 1870.

The wonderful butterfly is adorned with sparkling white Paste stones with two green Emeralds and two rich red Tourmaline’s adorning the wings. 

Paste is a transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. White Pastes sparkle just like Diamonds, captivating the allure of natures beauty.

The Emerald is the sacred stone of the goddess Venus, It was thought to preserve love and has long been the symbol of hope.

A stunning deep blue Tanzanite is set in the centre of the brooch which was added at a later date, Circa 1960s.

Tanzanite is a stunning deep blue stone that was first discovered in Tanzania. The stone is the celebrated gemstone of the 20th Century and is one of the most valuable Crystals today.

The brooch is set in Silver, backed in 18ct Gold and complete with French hallmark on the reverse. 

This is a truly stunning French brooch, a wonderful collectors piece! 

Weighs 17.2 grams. 

Measures 42mm across x 36mm down. 

Tanzanite measures 6mm across x 7mm down. 

Red Tourmalines measure 4mm x 5mm / Emeralds measure 3mm x 4mm.
