ASK A QUESTION PURCHASE

A beautiful antique Victorian pendant brooch Circa 1860, set with old cut Diamonds and five natural Turquoise droppers, the largest of which is 2ct and hangs from a swinging pendulum.

Turquoise stones are considered a symbol of friendship and were once said to bring good fortune to the wearer. The stone has also long being associated with the Forget me not.

‘Forget-me-not, O Lord!’ is what a poor German knight shouted as he fell into a river. He and his lady were picking flowers by the side of the river at the time when the poor knight suddenly fell in and sank to the bottom. Upon his cries to the Lord, he threw the blue posy of flowers to his loved one. Hence, the concept of remembrance, eternal love and faithfulness grow from this.

The Diamonds are SI 1 Clarity - H Colour. The two larger rub over set Diamonds are 0.12ct each, approx. 0.75ct of Diamonds in total.

The pendant is set in 18ct Yellow Gold and Silver and features a pin at the back so the piece can also be worn as a brooch.

A fabulous antique piece and steeped in Victorian history.
