ART DECO PASTE STONE GUARD CHAIN CIRCA 1920
Recently Viewed
This wonderful Art Deco guard chain boasts fifty four old cut white Paste Stones. Each stone is loop set in base metal, with both the back and front left open to allow light to stream through them, creating a mesmerising cascade of light when the wearer moves.
Paste is a transparent flint glass that is cut to simulate the beauty of gemstones. White Pastes sparkle just like Diamonds and take expert craftsmanship to capture their beauty.
Guard chains were popular in the Victorian and Edwardian eras. The long chains can be wrapped around the neck to create a two strand necklace.
