ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PIQUE FLORAL BROOCH GOLD SILVER CIRCA 1850
An exquisite Antique early-Victorian Pique brooch dated Circa 1850. The brooch is fashioned from Tortoise Shell and features a Pique bouquet of 18ct Gold and Silver flowers in the centre haloed in a decorative golden border.
Tortoise shell was often used as a base for Pique jewellery which is a technique in which Gold or Silver is expertly inlaid into the material to form a decorative pattern or image.
