This fascinating Antique Victorian mourning bracelet is made up of four strands of finely plaited brown hair which is then twisted together to form a beautiful thick band.
Mourning jewellery mirrored the lives and times of the people who wore it and was sometimes made up of the hair of a loved one so that a piece of them was always kept close to the wearer.
The hair band is connected by a hinged box fastener which is fashioned in Silver, gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold and engraved with lovely floral patterning.
A unique piece of history. It has been lovingly preserved and is in good condition for its age.

MEASURES: Will fit a 6 – 6.5 inch wrist
BAND WIDTH: approx. 12mm across the band
METAL: Silver gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold (Tested)
