ANTIQUE VICTORIAN EARRINGS GREEN PASTE CIRCA 1880 SCREW BACKS
These fabulous Victorian long Silver and Gold earrings are all genuine Circa 1880, set with lovely rich Emerald Green Paste Stones.
A border of outer Paste Stones chase around the outer gallery leading to an old cushion cut Paste Stone at the top.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass Pastes.
These earrings have been converted to Gold screw backs over time but can be put back to pierced if preferred.
Steeped in history, they are a stunning pair.
They are perfect for that special occasion or a wedding.
The pair weigh 10 grams.
The central Paste Stone measures 8mm across, at the widest part x 15mm down.
They measure 16mm across, at the widest part x 35mm down.
Excellent condition all round.
