ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN BOXED SILVER PASTE HEART PENDANT CIRCA 1910
This remarkable antique Edwardian heart pendant has been pavé set with a dazzling array of white Paste stones, each one is approx. 0.05ct. The stones have been expertly positioned to minimise the gaps between, creating a resplendent facia all set in Silver. The delicately carved bale crowns the piece with a three-pronged motif with a single White Paste stone at its centre.
Pavé settings seek to create an unbroken skin of precious stones placed in extremely close proximity. The word comes from the same root as the English word “pave”, and echoes the techniques used by masons when laying cobblestones or bricks in a path.
This is a magnificent piece which shines brightly in even the faintest light, and comes complete with its original box from renowned jeweller Lewis Abbott.
