27 Amethysts adorn this necklace, which are 0.50ct each in size.

Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.

The gallery of each cluster is set with a closed backed setting which is typical of the Georgian manner/style.
