ANTIQUE VICTORIAN AGATE BUCKLE BROOCH SILVER CIRCA 1860
This beautiful Antique Victorian Scottish brooch has been modelled in Silver to form the shape of a belt and buckle. The silver work bears lovely intricate engravings and the brooch has been set with eleven pieces of gorgeous Montrose Agate.
Each Agate is unique and boasts various earthy colours and patterned layers which are naturally formed, earning it the appropriate nickname ‘The Earth Rainbow’.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid-1800s.
A fantastic and fascinating piece of jewellery and history which comes with a secure clasp and also a safety chain to keep it in place.
