GEORGIAN CUT STEEL SILVER BUCKLE
This collectable Cut Steel, Silver and Gold Metal buckle is an interesting find, genuine Georgian Circa 1800.
Due to its age, Georgian jewellery is quite rare, with some pieces almost three hundred years old. From 1714 until 1837 four King Georges and a short-lived William gave rise to this extended period, spanning many fashions that are reflected in these stunning pieces of Georgian jewellery.
The buckle is set in Silver with a Gold pin at the back with four buckle hooks down the central gallery.
Cut-steel jewellery is set with faceted and polished steel studs that resemble gemstones. This type of jewellery was popular during the Georgian and Victorian eras with finer, older pieces having more faceted studs.
The Piece displays pristine Georgian workmanship, it is substantial and of good weight.
