This exquisite antique Victorian crescent brooch is adorned with old cut Paste Stones. Circa 1860
All set in Sterling Sliver.
27 fabulous old cut Paste Stones are set into this amazing Victorian brooch.
The largest Paste stones are 1.75ct each!
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass Pastes.
The brooch has a closed backed setting which is typical of this era, this is all original.
Hallmarked 935 on the reverse.
Steeped in history, this stunning brooch would be ideal for a special occasion, it looks amazing when worn!
