A magnificent Vintage cocktail ring set with an extraordinary cabochon Amethyst which is approx. 50ct. The stone is polished and smooth, displaying the raw natural striations of the stone which is very striking.
Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty and deep purple colouring which has adorned regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The stone is claw set in a grand gallery with a beautiful engraved border all modelled in Silver and gilded in Yellow Gold. Complete with hallmarks inside the shank which date the piece as London, 1972. The ring certainly makes a statement and is truly breath taking to behold.
