ART DECO SUFFRAGETTE PASTE LAVALIERE NECKLACE SILVER 18CT GOLD GILT CIRCA 1920
This magnificent Art Deco Suffragette lavaliere necklace has been commissioned in Silver and gilded with 18ct Yellow Gold. The lavaliere is set with an array of violet, green and white Pastes stones cut in various shapes and sizes which simulate Amethysts, Peridots and Diamonds.
Together the colours of each stone pay tribute to the women’s Suffragette movement which took place in the early 20th century and popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which symbolised; Violet for Loyalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, or Give Women Votes!
It looks fabulous around the neck and has remained in excellent condition.
