This beautiful antique Victorian Scottish horseshoe brooch is set in Silver, Circa 1860.
The Horseshoe has long been a symbol of good luck and became a popular image in Victorian jewellery when there was an increase in superstition.
The brooch boasts fabulous Scottish workmanship depicting lovely Aberdeen Granite and rose Peterhead pebble.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her trips to Scotland. From the mid 1800's Queen Victoria frequently visited Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral.
The brooch is set in Silver and fitted with a sturdy pin and catch.
